Wilmette, IL, High School Student-Athlete Jack Knudson

Jack Knudson of Wilmette, IL, began his high school education at Winnetka’s New Trier High School in 2018. He is an honors student and award-eligible athlete who is interested in business, engineering, and Chemistry coursework. Jack Knudson balances his honors-level coursework and role on the school's rowing team with positions as a remote intern at Main Street Relief, based out of New York City, and as a coach with Wilmette, IL’s Alliance Rowing Club. His work at Main Street Relief revolves around maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, while his responsibilities as a rowing coach involve oversight of between two and eight developmental rowers in studio and open water learning environments.

Following his time at New Trier High School, Mr. Knudson plans on pursuing a college degree in engineering or business. In addition to his passion for rowing, fitness, and weight lifting, his personal interests include snowboarding and building inventions. He is a self-taught builder, building a two-story "Tiny House" during COVID. Additionally, he taught himself to weld, including plasma cutting, to make custom metal fittings and other metal inventions. He also helped a New Trier High School fund raiser for charity by teaching himself jewelry making, making bracelets, and selling the most bracelets of the fund raiser in 2020.
